Cobb & Co Festival

Cobb & Co Festival
When: Held every 5 years
Where: Yuleba & Surat
Step back in time and immerse yourself in the rich history of the Australian bush at the Cobb & Co Festival, celebrating the anniversary of the last horse-drawn mail coach service in Australia. Every five years, the Cobb & Co Festival retraces the final journey along the 76 kilometres of dusty track between the small country towns of Surat and Yuleba in the Roma region.
The Festival’s signature event begins by collecting the mail from the Surat Post Office, before participants hit the track on horseback, in buggies, carriages and wagons. Over the ten days of the festival, there are a variety of activities held around the area. From a long table dinner to a period dress clay target shoot, bowls days, markets, theatre productions, and plenty of live entertainment, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Where else can you rattle along in a horse-drawn carriage, reliving an important chapter of Australia’s outback history? Just remember to keep an eye out for bushrangers — after all, every adventure comes with its own thrilling surprises.
Load up the car (or coach) and get ready! Yeehaw!
