Sculptures Out Back

When: 15 June – 29 September 2024
Where: Warrego Highway, Roma

Sculptures Out Back is Roma’s annual outdoor sculpture exhibition, celebrating local history, cultural heritage, community, and the environment and captivating visitors from June to September each year.

Artists from around Australia display their unique, handcrafted pieces on the bank of Roma’s Bungil Creek, standing proudly at the eastern entrance of Roma, between the iconic Big Rig and the Explorer’s Inn.

With nearly $40,000 in prize money up for grabs, this exhibition is not only a showcase of artistic brilliance but also an opportunity for sculptures to become part of the region’s public art collection. Sculptures are scored on first impression, creativity, originality, finish, composition and texture.

Immerse yourself in a world of creativity as you stroll amidst these awe-inspiring sculptures, getting an up-close view of the artists’ work and a real feel for the Roma region.

Don’t let the creativity stop there, continue on to visit the latest exhibitions at the Roma on Bungil Gallery, Mitchell on Maranoa Gallery, Surat on Balonne Gallery or the Injune Creek Gallery while you’re exploring the Roma region.
